Peanut porridge..


0.2 cups of cooked rice 🍚 (unsalted)

0.5 cup of roasted peanuts 🥜

Sugar to taste

Spices, ginger,cinnamon or cardamom (optional)


Remove chaff of roasted peanuts and blend in half cup of water .

Sieve if you would prefer a more rough texture , if you want a smith text you filter with a muslin cloth .

Bring to boil, stir occasionally so it doesn’t spill

When it’s boiled , add in rice and stir .

Leave to cook for 5mins

Add sugar and Serve hot.

This meal is a balanced diet , as it contains macro and micro nutrients . Easy to make and is vegetarian for those who are trying to change their diets its a meal you can start with .

My aunt, from my mother’s side was the first person to prepare this for me . Loved it so much she taught me how to make it at the age of 9 🥺🥰.. The temperature of the day was a bit cold, so I added a little ginger in my porridge.

I sweetened mine with vanilla syrup instead of sugar. Other options are honey or artificial sweeteners.
