I visited the Waziri Junaidu History & Culture Bureau Sokoto.
It’s located in sokoto state Nigeria.
History is not a burden on the memory but an illumination of the soul.

I won’t be sharing all the pictures from the display as I was asked not to take pictures of certain items or display them on social media.
I would share just a few that I am allowed to.

A shocking story and picture at the Museum was that of General Murtala Mohammad assassinated by Lieutenant Colonel Buka Saka Dimka on 3/February/1976 (sorry photos on this story weren’t allowed to be photographed but you can get them from Google )
Dimka smiled as he was handcuffed and being lead by two officers . I later learnt he smiled from his arrest until the day he was executed on 15/May/1976!
I still wonder what he was smiling about and what brought about this disturbing reaction .

The staffs are friendly and knowledgeable.
Well ventilated and clean .
I recommend you visit when you can!
Visiting this place today , made me feel a bit hopeful towards the condition of my dear country .
We have been through a lot but still standing.
🇳🇬.
