It’s no secret I love bread ,

I made different bread recipes , so that i don’t get to eat the same kind of bread everyday. One day i might share that.
I woke up today and missed the bread we use to eat in Khartoum. It was like missing a part of home.

… so I decided to mix some dough before going for my morning jog and a few thoughts came to me as I made the dough …
This bread is a type of bread that didn’t require much, all you need is flour, salt, vegetable oil and water .
Thought 💭: Some of the best things in life are not complicated. The simple little things are enjoyable too.

I made my dough, left it to rise and went for my morning jog.

Thought 💭:Sometimes you have to let things rest. Doing nothing is doing something too. When you have played your part in life. The rest will handle itself.

Back from my jog and the dough was looking good. A well risen dough.
Thoughts 💭: Things take time, at the right time it will all work out.
Rolled my dough into balls, flatten them out and , set them aside to rise again .

Doing this, I remembered the period of bread scarcity in Khartoum. It was the first in my life I heard of and experienced bread scarcity…
I remember queueing for bread at a bakery for almost three hours and I began asking myself on that queue if it was worth it .
Thought💭: For things that matter, humans are willing to pay the price . If it means a lot to you, you will definitely put in the work .
The scarcity of bread , made me always prepared. I went about with my own bread bag Incase I came across a bakery with fresh bread and less queue.

Thought💭: Be prepared, be ready. You never know when the blessings you pray for will come but you can prepare for them.
I baked my bread at a temp of 90c and it came out nicely. So close to that of which I miss.

I enjoyed this bread along aside coffee, fried eggs and my new read house of correction by Nicci French.
Dear reader, these were my thoughts from bread today.
This should be a reminder that your happiness sometimes is dependent on how you want it. Wallowing in your past won’t help you. It’s ok to miss certain things, it’s ok to want certain things from your past but it’s best to move on and create new things✨.
